Hello
everyone!
I am sorry for not blogging the past few days; we have been busy adjusting to life back at home. Lyon got to go to the Dew Tour on Saturday and he had the time of his life! We where given all access passes, so there was nowhere that we were not allowed to go. He met all of his favorite riders, took pictures with them and was given 3 autographed jerseys. It was truly the perfect way to spend our last day in Cleveland.
We flew home smoothly on Sunday morning. Lyon came home with his drains and a smile from here to Cleveland. L.A. smog never smelt so good! We arrived home to be surprised by a welcome home party. A group of Lyon's friends decorated the house with balloons, cards and flowers. They had a cake made that read, "Courage Shines From Within". Randy was here as well to get it all on tape. It was a sweet welcoming and it felt so good to be home.
He is doing beyond remarkable! He is walking upright, has not taken any pain medication since Friday and is as happy as can be.
We went to the plastic surgeon here in L.A. today. They removed his drains and said that he is healing up beautifully. They said that he could try and get back in the ocean in 8 weeks. Lyon is counting down the days!
Thank you for everyone's love and support through out this journey. The prayers have done there job. He is a walking miracle and an inspiration to all!
I have been asked several times if the surgery was a success. Yes it was! The Doctor said that he was able to remove the entire tumor and the abdominal repair was a success. They removed 5 packs of a 6 pack of muscle, but it does not seem to be bothering him much. He will be scanned every 6 months for tumor recurrence and we will just take it one day at time.
I will continue to keep everybody updated on his progress and any exciting events.
We hope to see you all at the surf contest in August!
We love you all!
